Birdwatching in and around Nidderdale is a very popular pastime, many of our visitors come to stay because of the rich variety of birdlife in the area.
If you wish to walk to Gouthwaite Reservoir from our house (which is approximately 4 miles away) there are several routes possible- alongside the River Nidd, or up onto the valley sides with magnificant views along the way.
Interesting packed lunches are available if ordered the day before and there is ample facilty to dry wet and muddy gear. If you are one of those committed folk who like to be up and out at first light, we can organize an early continental breakfast if booked in advance.
